Rainwater Harvesting System

O’Reilly Oakstown Environmental manufacture rainwater harvesting systems for domestic buildings.

In Ireland, we are fortunate to get more rain than most countries across Europe. Most of the rain which falls goes to waste, while the water used for washing machines and flushing toilets is purified at a considerable expense.

Harvested rain water is ideal to use in washing machines, dishwashers, toilets, etc. This water is not recommended for drinking, bathing or cooking.

Rainwater Harvesting System

The rainwater from the roof is channelled through the downpipes into the vortex filter, eliminating leaves and other debris, before entering the tank through a calmed inlet.

This water is then pumped on demand into a header tank in the house/garage for distribution.

In the event of a long, dry weather spell, the rainwater system with automatically shut off and the header tank with fill from the water mains until rainfall resumes.
